Hyogo, Japan Design/Construction 1992-1993 Building Area: 161.45m² Total Floor Area: 126.49m² Steel and Reinfored Concrete 1 Storey The pavilion at the inner garden of Himeiji Castle stands in the circular pond, the rest area and restrooms are separate, but in balance with each other. The design of the furniture is taken from the Edo-series. In order to sustain the constant use by the pavilion visitors, aluminum was used instead of wood. Half-moon shape, circular pond, spherical roof however may be simple geometric shapes, but the composition is mildly distorted. |
