Design Concept

Built on reclaimed land in the Persian Gulf, the President’s official residence, international conference hall and residential quarters for guests make up a central complex situated within a surrounding moat redug in the center of the site. The “city in architecture” compactly integrates various individual buildings into a unified whole by covered corridors- semi-enclosed space- as in Japanese temple compounds, which coincides with the traditional patio system in Islamic architecture.
